Lesson 01 · 4 min
Stop before fatigue controls the vehicle
Recognize impaired alertness and make a safe stop decision even when legal hours remain.
Rule to rememberDo not begin or continue driving when illness or fatigue makes safe operation unsafe; reach the first safe place to stop.
Treat early signs as warnings
Lane drift, missed exits, slow reactions, repeated yawning, and difficulty focusing mean alertness is already impaired.
Hours are a ceiling
Remaining legal time does not prove fitness. The driver and carrier must not continue normal operation when fatigue makes it unsafe.
Use real rest
Coffee, open windows, loud audio, and short-term stimulation do not replace sleep. Stop safely and rest before resuming.
