Lesson 01 · 4 min
Keep emergency information usable
Locate shipping papers and communicate the cargo identity without approaching a release.
Rule to rememberKeep required papers accessible; give responders the cargo information from a safe place.
Apply the rule
At the controls, keep the paper within immediate reach while belted and readily visible or in the driver-side door holder. Away from the controls, use that holder or the driver’s seat. The required emergency number must be monitored throughout transport, including incidental storage.
Why it matters
A paper hidden elsewhere in the cab may delay the response. Emergency staff need the proper shipping name and identification number to find the guidebook entry.
Avoid this mistake
Being somewhere in the cab does not make a paper accessible.
