CCDL Permit Prep

How CDL Permit Prep builds practice.

Every question begins with a traceable rule or handbook concept. Distractors test a nearby misconception without changing the governing safety rule.

Source hierarchy

Primary sources come first: FMCSA CDL manual sections, eCFR requirements, and official state licensing pages. Each explanation identifies its source so learners can verify the rule behind an answer.

Test construction

Simulators use realistic study presets: 50 General Knowledge questions, 25 Air Brakes questions, 20 Combination Vehicles questions, and focused endorsement sets. These are practice lengths, not promises about a state exam. FMCSA says states develop their own tests within federal minimum standards; General Knowledge must contain at least 30 items and knowledge tests require at least 80% correct. Always check your state CDL manual and licensing agency.

Review process

Automated audits check duplicate IDs, answer validity, citations, category coverage, and bounded compliance language. Source changes still require editorial review before content is represented as current.

Corrections

If a source conflicts with a question, follow the current official source. Correction contact details will appear with the public app listing.
